Not necessarily horror, but "The Host" is one of my favorite monster movies ever - it's Korean. Edit: Found another one, Audition is Japanese. From what I remember it's pretty slow-moving, but also pretty scary. haven't seen it in ages though. Another Korean horror is 3 Extremes - three shortish horror movies by three different directors.
